Malinska → Modra špilja
sea cave, blue light
A sea cave on Plavnik: swim in or paddle in on the dinghy, and everything inside glows blue.
The Blue Cave on the west coast of Plavnik is the best-known sea cave in Kvarner. You enter by swimming or in a small dinghy through a low opening, and inside the sunlight through the water turns the whole cave blue. It is at its best mid-morning, when the sun comes in at the right angle, and only in calm seas — in a bora or sirocco the entrance is dangerous and we skip it.
